The Environment Forest and Climate Change Commission, New Delhi, is a dedicated statutory body established to safeguard India’s ecological wealth, strengthen climate resilience, and protect the fundamental right of every citizen to live in a clean, safe, and sustainable environment registered under trust Act, 1984 Guided by scientific research, community participation, and evidence-based policymaking, the Commission works across sectors to conserve biodiversity, restore ecosystems, and ensure responsible, long-term environmental stewardship in harmony with national development priorities.
As environmental challenges intensify—ranging from climate change, deforestation, species extinction, and habitat fragmentation to pollution and unsustainable land-use practices—the Commission serves as a central authority for monitoring, enforcement, advisory action, and collaborative conservation.
